Hugh Pell
B.Sc. (Hons), C.Geol., F.G.S., F.I.Q
After graduating with honours in geology from Leicester University in 1972, Hugh joined Tarmac Quarry Products. He worked as a geologist in progressively more senior roles until leaving in 1982. After a 5 year sabbatical in teaching, he joined ARC (Hanson Aggregates) as a Senior Geologist, eventually becoming Company Geologist for Tarmac Roadstone Eastern in 1989. Hugh was a director of Geoplan from 1990 to 2010.

- All aspects of geological appraisal including reserve assessment and quarry design
- Design of contract documents for annual clay extraction and stockpiling
- Geotechnical assessments
- Tip and lagoon designs
- Company reserve and resource schedules and audits
